We embrace all forms of woodcarving, including caricature carving, relief carving, chip carving, pyrography, whittling, and more. Our members bring a wide range of experience and techniques, creating a collaborative atmosphere where knowledge is freely shared and creativity is encouraged.

The association meets on the third Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM at the Woodwork Shop in Memphis, Tennessee. Meetings typically include live demonstrations, skill-building discussions, tool and technique guidance, and opportunities to connect with fellow woodcarvers. From time to time, we also host friendly contests, special presentations, and group projects to challenge and inspire our members.

Beyond meetings, the Memphis Woodcarvers Association is committed to keeping this traditional craft alive by encouraging mentorship, supporting newcomers, and showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship that woodcarving represents. Members often share tips on tool care, wood selection, safety practices, and finishing techniques, helping others refine both foundational and advanced skills.
