October Monthly Meeting – Scroll Saw Demo

The Memphis Woodcarvers Association is excited to welcome special guest, Clara Gideon of Moscow, TN, for an informative scroll saw demonstration at our next meeting! Whether you’re a seasoned carver or just getting started, this is a presentation you won’t want to miss.
Clara will cover:
The advantages and disadvantages of using a scroll saw versus a band saw
Different types of scroll saws and what sets them apart
Blade selection and choosing the right blade for the job
Tips and techniques for preparing carving blanks
A live demonstration of segmented scrolling as she creates one of her beautiful nativity scenes

Most carvers rely on a band saw or scroll saw at some point in their carving journey, and Clara’s knowledge and experience will help you get the most from whichever tool you choose. And bring a friend! Guests are always welcome!
